June 2015

Hello!  Obviously I am very far behind with these monthly updates, so my memory for little things that happened throughout the month may be a little hard to remember.

We started the month off getting a couple of cavities filled for Claire.  Our dentist said that she had a couple of adult teeth grow in with divits that would undoubtedly turn into cavities if we did not treat them.  We went to a special Pediatric dentist and they gave her laughing gas.  The experience was absolutely horrible.  They almost had to put her in restraints so that they could finish it.  Pete and I left the room (per dentist request) and we could hear her screaming from the lobby.  Even though it doesn't sound like it, the dentist did a wonderful job and Pete and I in the room just seemed to give her too much room to be uncomfortable.  She doesn't seem too scarred from the experience.

One weekend, Pete's company sent us to Great Wolf Lodge as a "thank you" for a great job he was doing at work.  We were spoiled.  Each child got a special pass, room was paid for and it was so nice to have a night as a family.

Towards the end of June, we went to Michigan for Pete's cousin's wedding.  Unfortunately, it has been a while since we have been able to make it to Michigan and we were so happy to see everyone.  We were able to stay in one of the family's rental houses that was a few steps to the beach.  We were very thankful and had a nice relaxing weekend catching up with the Vandervaart/Kooyers family.

Here are pictures from our month of June:

We went to a family day at Peagasus Farms with Mike and Anne and their two little ladies.  The kids got to ride ponies and feed horses.  It was a very fun day spent with great friends.

One Saturday evening we went to a  park up in NorthEast Ohio and met up with Pete's family.  We packed a picnic, played cards, and the kids swam in the lake.  We had a great time!

We went to the local public pool on a Sunday and Claire was fearless!  She jumped off the tallest diving board before the first hour was over.

The Annual Jaycee's Fair came back to the local high school and we always love going there.  The kids love the rides and we traditionally grab a funnel cake to share on the way out while we walk back to the care.

Below are pictures from Great Wolf Lodge

Onto the July update! :)

I can definitely understand your concern for Claire, and I did the same thing with my little one. I tried to over complicate things and made them worse for her, instead of just letting the dentist do their job. New technology in the dentist office makes things much easier than we as adults remember this procedure being. It was really painless for her, she told me afterwords.
