Juy 2015

July is always one of our busiest months of the year.  We have many different family events and this July was no different.

We started off the month of July with our annual reunion with my mom's side of the family over the fourth of July weekend.  It was great to spend time with family that we don't get to regularly see and of course, always fun to see those that we are fortunate enough to see often.  We played in the lake, lit fireworks, played euchre and had a blast.

The next weekend we went to the Dragon Boat Festival and watched Grammy compete on her dragon boat.  We have gone to this event many times before and really have a great time!

The third weekend in July, we went back to Indianapolis because we threw my mom a "surprise" retirement party.  Unfortunately, our contact through the hospital accidentally attached my mom to the email so she knew about it since we started planning it in March.  Regardless, she had a great time and many friends, neighbors, college roommates and family came to wish her well in retirement.  The next day, we had a "Carroll" family reunion with my dad's side of the family.  It was wonderful to get to see so many relatives that we had not seen in such a long time.

The last weekend in July, one of my dearest high school friends and her family came to visit.  Jackie and Josh brought their 3 children and we had a blast.  The kids played well together, we sat around a fire and just relaxed while catching up on each others lives.  As always, we were so appreciative that they took the time to travel over here and visit with us.

Here are pictures from our month of July:

We took the kids putt-putt golfing.  We always head to these family evening with great intentions.  We quickly forget about the little fights regarding who gets to go first, who gets what color of ball, taking turns, etc.  Regardless, we still had a great time!
