Claire The Flower Girl

Here is a video of Claire in the act of being a flower girl. She did wonderfully! She got about 1/3 of the way down the aisle, then the orchestra started playing the wedding march. The music scared the ring bearer and Claire so they turned around and were about to dart in the other direction. Just as Claire turns around, she sees her monkey doll that Pete is holding up and comes running down the aisle :)

Claire as a Flower Girl

One of Pete's closest friends from high school, Nim got married this past Friday, October 23rd. She asked if Claire would be a flower girl in her wedding. We were honored, but also very nervous about how Claire would do. As you can see by the video above, she did pretty well. Pete and I were very proud of her and impressed by her behavior during the entire evening. Here are some pictures from the wedding...
Once Claire got down the aisle, we had an M&M cookie waiting for her

It was a rainy day, so the curls in her hair fell out quickly
During pictures, we asked her to sit still on the stairs and she sat like this for probably 30 straight seconds... it was hilarious!

Here she is with the beautiful bride

But after all is said and done, she was exhausted!

North Canton Visit

This past weekend, we traveled to North Canton to visit with family and friends. The entire Vandervaart family went to the pumpkin patch and carved pumpkins. Here are some pictures from our fun fall activities...

We told her Barney was inside :)

What a cute little pumpkin

She's not sure which pumpkin to pick, but she really just wanted to play in the gravel

But she still loves those apples!

Grandpa Carroll Learning to Walk Again

Grandpa Carroll's Update

Dad is doing well and has been transferred to a Rehab Hospital. He is learning to stand and walk again. They have predicted his discharge home will be November 4th, but his goal is October 30th. We are all very proud of his good spirits and wonderful progress. Way to go, Daddy-O! :)

Wedding Fun

Our friends Mo & Mike got married yesterday and we enjoyed one of our first weddings together in over a year. There was lots of laughing, eating, dancing and some participation in the open bar by the non-pregnant people :) Here are some pictures from our fun night...
Probably one of our last family photos of the THREE of us...

"You know you make me wanna SHOUT..."

The Carroll siblings helped keep the dance floor going... shocking, I know :)

Fourth Annual Carroll Camping

We went to "Hidden Paradise Campground" in St. Paul, Indiana this year and spent the weekend camping. We got a cabin this year which was comfy and very much appreciated throughout the chilly weekend. Claire was sick so she was a little crabby but everyone had a great time hanging out around the fire, fishing, and walking around. Anne's brother Chris and his girlfriend Michelle joined us this year which was very nice company. Here are some pictures from our camping adventures...

Daddy and Miss Claire

The campground had a "petting zoo" that consisted of 2 very friendly deer. They came right up to the fence and even licked some of us :)

Claire had a good time at the playground

Mike, Keith, and Pete fishing - Keith was the only one to catch a fish. Although it was a guppy... he was still the only one to catch anything

Claire all bundled up for the chilly weather

By Saturday night, one of the only ways Claire was entertained and bundled was to sit in the van and watch a movie in her car seat :) This turned out to be the perfect way to keep her happy!

September 2009

Sorry again for the delay in updates. September proved to be a very busy month for us. Throughout September, Pete and Claire went to North Canton (I stayed back while my dad was in the ICU); we spent some quality time with the White family before welcoming their newest member - Charlotte; Claire went to a play and learn class and had a blast!; Claire also started going to a "Parents Day Out"/Preschool session once a week for a 5 hour period. She has handled that very well. Here are some pictures from the month of September...

Another picture from the class

She took a very good nap that day :)

She loved taking the ball and making baskets

Saying her new favorite word "No" :)

She LOVES corn on the cob

During some reorganizing, we pulled this toy out of her closet that she used to lay in all of the time as a 3-6 month old. She seemed to remember it and was instantly playing with it.

She's trying to get dressed her... so mature for her age :)

Such a pretty little girl

She also had some wonderful play dates with Korbin

What a perfect book to be reading

While Pete and Claire were in Ohio, I took on a little project to take my mind off all the seriousness :)

There was a mini trampoline at the Play & Learn class - if only these were for sale somewhere

Claire LOVES to play with bubbles
