Claire's First Haircut!
On April 29th, we took Claire for her first haircut. She did OK, but dad need to hold her and she really HATED when the had to shave the back of her head. She survived without too much trauma (hopefully)! :)
April 2009
April was a great month for the Vandervaart Family. Claire is doing and learning so many new things. We were able to head to Ohio for Easter and spent some great time with friends and family. Claire enjoyed putting the eggs into a basket and then clapping for herself! Grandpa Carroll was in the hospital for about 12 days with a blood infection and Claire was not allowed to visit for a while. He is doing better now and expected to have a bone marrow transplant on May 11th. Here are some pictures from our April...
We introduced Claire the joys of a shower...
We THINK she liked it
Still loves Italian foods :)
She loves her new chair and LOVES to look at books!
She kept reaching for the lemon on our water and at first she was OK with it...

Claire - ONE YEAR OLD!
We can't believe that Claire is already one! We have had such a wonderful year with her. She is started to enjoy little aspects on the TV like the wheel on "Wheel of Fortune" and "Price is Right". She can make monkey sounds and really enjoys books. She makes lots of babbling noises and she is trying very hard to make words - but we still can't understand any! She can point out mommy and daddy and find her juice when we ask where it is. She understands a lot and is still (of course) VERY curious! :)
Strike-a-pose
She loves this toy, but the anticipation kills her! :)
She tries to take keys to the door knob
